I first heard about Austin Fitness Personal Training from my neighbor, who was gradually becoming slim and fit. I recently I had to buy clothes for myself in a bigger size because everything had become too tight. As a result of no exercise and unhealthy and irregular eating I was increasingly gaining weight.

This was followed by first appointment with Mark and the tests and measurements were sobering: I was very overweight, at the edge of obesity, had poor values of fitness and little vigor. Highly motivated, I entered into the program, re-organized my eating habits and went twice a week for training.

The pounds rolled off, my strength increased and I was getting fitter. In addition to that my body was feeling better, my self - confidence also increased, and it even increased my motivation to continuously improve my body. Climbing stairs instead of going by an escalator had earlier never occurred to me.

Today I prefer stairs, walk more instead of going by tram and I travel a lot with the bicycle. The headaches that bothered me on a weekly basis before training, disappeared with the training.

My stamina and my strength have dramatically increased thanks to the professional training program and the sympathetic but firm instructions from Mark. It has also increased my quality and joy of my life as well.

My doctor recommended that I come to you because I was constantly suffering from back pain. I have Spondylolisthesis. Because of this my vertebrae do not move evenly, which causes incredible pain and I had to build muscle to strengthening them.

Since I started training with you regularly, I am doing very well. I only have back pain when I take a long break from gym (for holidays). And to my delight my body has improved a lot, everything is tight and firm which is unusual for my age. I feel younger and generally fit. Although it is often very tiring (depending on my state), I would and could not do without the training.

You are a very skilled and serious trainer who wants to do only the best for his customers. One can notice that you execute your job with pleasure and passion.

Initially I was reluctant to go to a fitness centre as my family doctor advised. But on my very first visit, I was struck by the spontaneity, professionalism and helpfulness of Mark. Apart from this, he also turned out to be a very good motivator and at the same time was understanding but was also a tough coach who kept exact records on my performance and again made me mobile slowly and safely.

Within a few months and without much effort, I lost about 15 Kilos of body weight. The gym equipment is more or less the same, but here works a great, serious coach, who gives personal attention to each person. I myself will go there for a long time in order to stay in shape.

Already many a times before I have registered at a fitness centre but stopped going after a few times.

This has totally changed since I came to know Mark in 2005. The appointment is fixed and I am going there! It is a relief that I do not have to think about what and how will I exercise today, but instead Mark does it. He adjusts the training according to your condition, proportions and fitness level. When your coach is standing nearby one does not gives up easily. I can also be sure that I am doing the exercises correctly because Mark always has an eye on it. It makes you proud when you can lift more weight, have a flat belly and a straight body posture.

It is important for me that I find a likable personal coach! Mark is pleasant, humorous and cheerful. I do not always like to go there, but I am always happy when I am there!

Now it is more than a year, that I am a regular and enthusiastic visitor to your Fitness program. When I started, I was almost 20 kilos heavier, had to take blood-pressure medication every day and already my sweat used to break at the sight of stairs.

With the exercises and nutritional advice I get from you (with which unfortunately I have not always consistently complied), today I feel really happy in my own skin. I have good stamina, much more power and do not need any more blood pressure tablets, I don’t have back pain any more, in summer I can climb the stairs up to third floor without sweating and I am not breathless when I reach the top.

What I really appreciate about this type of training is the personalization, which works and the work out is personally designed for me. The workouts have committed arranged appointments that are observed like other appointments in normal life. Who has not bought a year subscription to a gym? If you are honest, how successful was it, how many times did you go ? You know, there have already been some events in which I had made an appointment with Mark and rather would have loved to stay at home or done something else but in spite of that I went to the training because I had a fixed appointment. Every time after such a situation, I was glad that I had stuck to the appointment because afterwards I always felt a lot better.

I became aware of Mark’s Fitness Training, when I saw one of my friends after some time, and noticed that he had lost a significant amount of weight.

Although I don't like fitness studios, I was convinced to have one trial session. When I saw that it is a small, friendly studio, my first objections blew away.

After the personal assessment by Mark, it was clear to me is that this was not going to be a one time thing. As I was struggling with knee and back problems, I was eagerly waiting for the initial results.

In the beginning, following the prescribed diet exactly was too much for me, but when I shed my first few kilos, it was really fun. When my initial results were noticed by others, I was even more inspired and my decision was strengthened to 100 percent.

Today, after one year of training and a weight loss of about 19 Kg, I feel fit. My knee and back problems do not exist any more

Even though sometimes I would have no time, I always go to my exercise sessions because better afterwards.

Another thing I find good is that one can tell Mark if he is not feeling well so that he can change the exercises accordingly.

My mother used to go to Austin fitness once a week for training. She had told me only good about you and also repeatedly mentioned that she feels much more fit now than before. She suggested that I should go for a trial training with Mark, because I wanted to participate more in sports activities.

The trial training with Mark was terrific. First of all, he has recorded all the data (blood pressure, pulse, height and weight) and then asked me about what I wish to have out of this training. So whether you want to build muscles enhance a certain part of the body or reduce weight.

Then when I started with Mark, I could not do much - but within a very short time I had made a tremendous progress. In the first three months I had increased 6 kg of muscle mass ! Very soon my body was in shape and I was ready to lift heavier weights.

The training was always varied and very intense. Apart from this, one is always under direct supervision. Mark always keeps a separate record of each of his customers so that one can specifically improve his best performance because one has a natural incentive.

For example – I started with 16 kg with the deadlift, whereas today I lift 110 kgs!

I am still in training with Mark - it's huge fun and does good to my own personal health! (I have completely removed my back pain with specific back training.)

The training with Mark is simply great!

When I began my training with Mark, my fitness was almost zero. For more than 10 years I have found excuses for not engaging myself in sport activities. This resulted in lethargy, laziness and last but not the least obesity. Every year, the resolutions for the next year are same - I want to be fit again. Unfortunately, the path was known but the appropriate will was missing. But the end of year 2007, I gathered all my courage and I registered with Mark for a trial. Here, I took the first step.

Now I am in training for more than 9 months with Mark and I was able to achieve several successes. Be it weight loss of more than 17 kilograms, a minimum acceptable fitness (stamina) or a body that now I can admire in the mirror. The most important thing is that I don’t have back problems anymore and I can for example: climb stairs without my pulse getting high so that the sweat runs down my forehead.

Looking back, I can say that my decision of training with Mark was entirely right. I feel that I am FIT again!

I completed my first workout with Mark in November 2004. My personal aim was to strengthen the muscles of my upper body and particularly my lower back as I suffered from frequent back pain. Of course, I also wanted to improve my entire body image and lose a little weight. My muscles of my legs were already quite good (At least I thought so at that time) because of other sports which I have been playing since long.

Today shortly after 4 years, I still go twice a week to Mark for training. I have achieved the major part of my goal, thanks to his help and his enormous expertise. My back pain is history and my body image has changed dramatically for the better. I had never thought that even I could achieve so much.

Earlier, when I went to the gym, I could never achieve significant targets. Moreover, the occupied equipments and long waiting time always annoyed me. Since I myself had very little knowledge, I did not knew whether I shall do more repetitions or apply more weight etc. In addition to this, I was personally inclined to “jump to” some exercises". This can lead to injury.

That could not happen to me with Mark because he controlled and corrected my exercises. Even the waiting time is eliminated. I have already expressed myself concerning the apparent success. Apart from this, the price / benefit ratio is more than justified.

Conclusion - I would have never thought that I would come so far and this could have never happened without Mark’s help. Without my weekly training, I feel that I am missing something, so one can say that it is addictive. Next week we are going to vacation with a holiday workout plan from Mark in our hand luggage ...

On 1st July 2008, I was rushed to the emergency room of Bülach, on a suspected cardiac arrhythmia. As a consequence of inflamed sternum. After a short time, I had gout attacks, which is the worst thing you can imagine as a human being. Now I had to again change my life at a young age of 44 years!

By this time, my wife Monika had already completed two months with Mark in the gym. I simply could not motivate myself. On the contrary, I just could not believe that in such a short span of time Monica had improved her condition so much and in particular had lost so much weight. I saw her as if she were experiencing a second spring, it was amazing. I was always curious as to how did Mark actually did it. He must be such an expert ?

Actually, I should have gone much earlier, but at the least I did not want to be so overweight and could not bear Marc measuring my fat. I enjoy every Monday and Friday together with Monika in the gym. We have taken the initial lessons together. I was quite amazed at what exercises Monika was doing. I was also shocked that I as a man could not lift the same weights as she could. For awhile Monika and I went separately to the gym and that was good. Now we go together to Mark two times a week on Monday and Friday. We don’t find any excuse of not going and we feel like we are missing something if we do not feel our muscles at least once a week. I enjoy every minute with Monika and Mark.

Monika and I have found a leisure activity where we have fun together; sometimes pain, laughter and we motivate each other. The success can be seen, together we have lost 28 kg and we have soon achieved our interim goal (25 kg!) and we keep trying with Mark to stay on the best track.
