I spend hours and hours every week scouring the four corners of the earth (google is great for that) to find new and better ways to help us achieve our goals of perfect health, ideal body weight, tremendous strength and optimum fitness.

Because weigh loss is such a huge industry, there are loads of scams, useless products and bad ideas out there so when I heard about zero calorie noodles and pasta I was very skeptical.

Who would have thought that you could eat unlimited quantities of noodles as often as you want in order to lose weight ? Sounds like science fiction, but it's true !

These noodles are made from the root of a Japanese plant called konjac and have zero carbohydrates, zero protein, zero fat and zero calories. The only ingredients are water and glucomannan, a water soluble dietary fibre.

You can get them from the gym or online from www.zerokaloriennudeln.ch , where you will also find instructions for preparation and some delicious recipes. I have tried most of the recipes and I cannot recommend them too highly. If you are trying to lose weight you really should get these.

New Trainers

Every 2nd weekend Dominique is off to spend time with his children. Weekends have become very popular times to train now, so I need assistance from other trainers.

Roli Obrist started training with me 14 months ago. He lost 13 kgs to reach his goal weight, and has maintained it ever since. He loved his training so much that he decided to pursue it further, studied personal training with Klubschule Migros and recently was awarded his certification as a personal trainer.

Sabine Sollberger has been training with me for more than 6 years. She lost over 19 kgs and has maintained the weight she had as an 18 year old ever since. Like Roli she loved her training so much she also wanted to take it further. She too studied through Klubschule Migros and wrote her exams a month or two ago. She is still waiting for her results, but is confident she did well.

My son Tyler grew up in gyms, has been training for about 6 years on and off, but 3 years consistently. He has had some amazing achievements in the gym. In fact I think by the end of the year he will probably out-lift me in most of the power movements. He is currently studying for his certification in personal training, alongside studying for his Matura. He hopes to complete both by the summer holiday.

Initially these 3 people will assist me on the weekends that Dominique is not here, and any time that he or I are away for whatever reason. They will only be allowed to instruct once they have their certification in personal training, and will always be accompanied by me or Dominique.

And as always I will always be responsible for deciding exactly which exercises you do and which weights you will be using for every workout you do.

On 21.2.2012 I turned 50

I had heard all the theories about having to slow down physically when you get to that age, but if you know anything about me then you know that I believe with the right training you can always be getting better. So on my birthday I attempted to break one of my personal lifetime records in the gym. I succeeded by deadlifting 180 kgs for 2 repetitions. I did this standing on blocks to increase the range of motion, which makes it a lot harder.

Remember this : There is no such thing as staying the same, you are either striving to make yourself better . . . or allowing yourself to get worse !
